For iheartfaces’ challenge… best faces in May.
Msgr. Kleas, portrait commemorating 60 years of service in the priesthood.
Okay, okay…
if you want to drag me along with you to the beach for your portrait sessions… sure why not?
Or you could just purchases these prints HERE!
Did you know I design custom ONE OF A KIND CARDS?
I do! I do! And I can add any text and print on any size… even if I do not have that size printed on my price menu.
Isn’t that too cool?
Sometimes in life, when you are running and running and running around, you need to stop and see where you are. That’s me now. I need to stop for a while and look at where I am, and remember why I started running in the first place. Lately, I have found myself feeling down (which is not totally unexpected.) I’ve been working hard, not taking a break; to there are a few nameless other stressors going on my life as well, and this time of the year marks the 2nd anniversary of my sister’s passing. All-in-all, I need to stop and be quiet for a moment. I need to breathe.
I think for the next couple of weeks, I am going to take a hiatus from pursuing work. I can still fulfill orders, and if someone would like to take advantage of the senior session maybe we can work something out to shoot your session this summer… but I need to get quiet for a moment.
(I know some of you may be laughing at that statement coming from me because there is usually NOTHING quiet about me. Ha ha! But even loud outgoing personalities sometimes need to become still and go within.)
Thank you everyone for being so patient and loving towards me.
What is not to like about Msgr. Kleas? Even though he’s retired, and could do as he pleases, he chooses to serve our parish community. AND he’s kind, funny, and sharp. For years he has made it a point to visit all of our Sunday school classes. The children love him. He also visits shut ins at the nursing home, perform weddings, hears confession, counsels people, and much more. And when he can find the time, he fishes too.
Recently he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Many people would give up, withdrawal, become depressed, but not Msgr. Kleas. He’s as active as ever, and still celebrates mass. Although I’m not sure if it’s a symptom of his disease, I have notice that his homilies are shorter. Nevertheless, he says more in 5 minutes than Fr. John in 35.
(Please do not tell Fr. John I said that. It should be duly noted that I have a short attention span, so… I am now checking my computer cables to make sure they are well grounded, as I’m pretty sure it’s a possibility I may be struck by lightening any moment.)
This Sunday, St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Community will honor Msgr. Kleas for his 60 years in the priesthood. I was quite honor to have been asked to take the portrait of Msgr. Kleas and I hope his next 60 years are more wonderful than the first.
“Is your halo shining?” ~ Msgr. Kleas
(I am quite sure his is.)
