Tomorrow is the first day of school for my kids, (technically my son has been in school for a week and a half, but who’s counting,) and it’s always a little bittersweet. Why? You’d think I be ready to not hear the cacophony of summer… the bickering, the revolving front door slamming, and the Disney channel droning in the background. And I am. But also I’m going to miss the kids. Nothing like doing nothing with the kids… lazily watching t.v. with a sweetheart on your lap; the very interesting non-stop conversations from here to the pool and back again; and staying up late and sleeping in late (well I never sleep in late, my internal clock’s alarm always goes off early, but it’s nice not having to rush in the mornings.)
AND THAT’S IT… I HATE THE RUSH AND THE BUSYNESS THAT SCHOOL BRINGS. The after school activities AND the driving in traffic goes hand and hand with it; the volunteering for EVERYTHING; the having to eat early, so you can go to bed early; all the INANE paperwork AND HOMEWORK! Gack!
BUT… such is life and I am grateful to have it times three. I am expecting to be a little melancholy in the weeks ahead, it always happens. HOWEVER, I do expect some photography specials in the near future… see I’m going to have a little more time on my hands.
So it’s school time, a new year with hopes, dreams and excitement and commitments… ~sigh~ I may try to make it to the spa. Maybe you can come with. Give me a call. Maybe we can do lunch.
~Side note: I actually used to be a real deal teacher in my former life.~
