As some of you know, I am seeking to earn my Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) credential.

Part of the process means that I need to submit prints from ACTUAL client work.

SOOOOOO this is where you come in… I am looking for  families, children (ages 6-11,) teens and high school seniors who are interested in having custom portrait work created.

The requirements are these:

  1. THERE WILL BE A SESSION FEE*.  HOWEVER, it will be at a great discount.  The images created can be made into canvases, framed prints, albums or cards… those I cannot discount.
  2. You will give me creative control.  I will pick where and help you make suitable clothing choices.  (Obviously I want you to be happy with the prints.  FOR EXAMPLE, if you are a High School Senior who more wants something edgy and or urban, I am going to photograph you Downtown.)
  3. You need to sign a model release.
  4. I am also in the process of working with some local salons so that we can make sure you look your best… while this may not be FREE, perhaps I can get you a discount.

So-far, what I have described above, it not a whole lot different from my normal sessions… minus… I hardly EVER discount my sessions.

More DETAILS to come in the following weeks.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME!

I WANT TO CREATE THE BEST IMAGES I CAN FOR YOU!

*As part of the CPP requirement, I cannot use any images from work that I do for free.

It was about this time last year when I decided that I had a problem in my life that needed resolving.  My clients had more of my pictures of their children, families, babies and seniors hanging on their walls than I did.  Tis sad, but true.  My walls were baren.  It was at that point in time that I resolved that 2011 would be my year to fix that issue, but how?  I had no skills in interior decoration.  How would I know what to put up or not?

And then like an angel, Tana Blades LeMay, founder and owner of the WILD SORBET HAND PAINTED CUSTOM FRAME COMPANY, came to speak at our local guild meeting about DESIGN.  She made design make sense, which as confounded as I was, seem like a divine miracle.

After the meeting, she hung out afterwards and we spoke.  She made mention that her company was hosting a contest with the winners (and runners up) having a chance to have their images published in the 2012 WildSorbet Catalog.

So long story short…

Look A WHOLE Full Page!

Tana helped me pick this striped frame to go with my daughter’s room decor.

And did I mention… my image got a WHOLE FULL PAGE!

(Thanks Linda Simms, of Word Photography, for taking our picture.  The best thing about being at a photographer’s conference is that you will always find a photographer who will take your picture for you.)

Polka Dot Frame Sample hanging in my daughter’s room…

IT’S RIGHT SMACK DAB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CATALOG!

The 2012 WildSorbet Catalog

(Thanks Jen Hillenga for the idea to take a picture with Tana while I was there.)
